ABOUT

Welcome to the workplace that's a destination, not an obligation.

A HISTORIC
LEGACY

Built in 1872 by A. Montgomery Ward and George Thorne, 600 West is a 1.25-million-square-foot warehouse and office called the Catalog House on the North Branch of the Chicago River.

Its dramatic 600-foot trapezoid follows the river, showing Chicago School industrial design and early use of large reinforced concrete

PLANTING THE FLAG

Carl Condit called it "one of the most powerful works of utilitarian architecture." Geometric terra-cotta details echo Sullivan and Wright. It's a National Historic Landmark for its role in retailing and its link to Ward.
